Morskie klimaty / Marine theme

Wreszcie... po kilkudniowej przerwie moglam znow rzucic sie w wir tworzenia:) Dodam, ze przerwa spowodowana byla remontem, ktory wlasnie trwa u nas w domu. Remont przyczynil sie nieco do tej pracy- ale o tym za chwile.

Przyznam, ze na samym poczatku ten temat mnie nie przekonal, ale zaintrygowaly i zainspirowaly mnie bardzo pokazane na blogu piekne prace i tak powstala moja interpretacja.

Do tej techniki potrzebne jest gesso, ktorego akurat nie mam, ale wykorzystalam biala farbe gruntowa- oto pierwszy pozytek z trwajacego w domu remontu :)
Na zwyklym kartonie nakleilam kawalki gazety i pomalowalam farba gruntowa. Brzegi pomalowalam farbami akrylowymi, za pomoca szpachelki. Farba akrylowa pomalowana jest rowniez siateczka,to tasma uzywana przy szpachlowaniu-fachowej nazwy nie znam, ale jak latwo sie domyslec, tez uzywamy jej przy remoncie :) Pozostale efekty to stemplowania i drobny piaseczek, ktorego uzylam zamiast brokatu, trzyma sie dobrze na kleju.

Finally after couple of days break, I could throw myself into creating process :) By the way, the break was caused by the renovation ongoing right now in our house. This renovation actually contributed to my work - more about it below.

I must admit at first I was not convinced by this theme, but once I saw already created projects, I got really intrigued and inspired, and created this interpretation.
Started with preparing the background, using the technique I came across on
http://stampartic.blogspot.com/2010/02/gesso-tutorial.html
This technique is made with gesso, which I didn't have, so I used instead ordinary white paint primer. That's the first contribution of our renovation to my project :)
I glued newspaper bits on the cardstock, which I then painted with primer. Once it dried, I added colour on the edges, using acrylic paints and a spatula instead of brush. A piece of net tape is also painted with acrylics. That's another renovation thing :)
Final touches with stamps and some fine sand which I used instead of glitter, just sprinkled it over glue.
The picture is taken last summer, at the grandparents place, at the seaside.
